between business partners across a given business value chain.
Enterprise software includes today, not only the already common ERP, CRM, SCM
and, many other application types, but also Manufacturing Execution Systems,
Management Information Systems, Executive Decision Support Systems, and
Cyber-Physical Systems (Smart Industry), comprising software and dedicated
hardware designed together, bringing IoT into the enterprise. Each of these types of
systems supports a specific business function, being their integration a major advantage inside the enterprise and across business partners in a business value chain.
