Brief description of the specific scientific scope of the Workshop:

Modern Enterprises rely on computer-based information systems, which comprise hardware and software. Enterprise software applications or information systems are increasingly complex, to match the also increasing competitiveness and complexity of the markets and organizations’ environments. Enterprise software supports business processes from the factory plant to the enterprise strategic administration, and even crosses the borders of an enterprise enabling integration between business partners across a given business value chain.

Enterprise software includes, today, not only the already common ERP, CRM, SCM and many other application types, but also Manufacturing Execution Systems, Management Information Systems, Executive Decision Support Systems, and smart industry (cyber-physical) systems comprising software and dedicated hardware designed together, bringing IoT into the enterprise. All these kinds of enterprise systems support a part of the business functions of the enterprise, and this latter has lots of advantages of having these systems talking with each other, being integrated inside the enterprise and across business partners in a business value chain.

Reasons the Workshop should be held within CISTI’2020:

CISTI has been a forum for presenting new perspectives and discussing new ideas about

Information Systems’ Technologies. The Digital Transformation in the enterprise and its role in digitally transforming society are matters that deserve to be discussed it such a forum. The Applied Research Center for Digital Transformation intends to discuss these matters and to be an active player in the digital transformation of enterprises and of all aspects of the general society. After having organized this workshop within CISTI 2019, and because we intend to organize this workshop on annual basis, we now propose the organization of the second edition of the Workshop on Digital Transformation in the Enterprise.
